Description
The human gut is home to trillions of microbes that influence everything from digestion to mood and immune health. In fact, the gut and brain are constantly in conversation, shaping our overall well-being. Dr. Nandita Shah, Founder and Director of the India-based organization SHARAN, will reveal how a diet of whole plant foods can heal the gut, reduce inflammation, and enhance both physical and mental health. Discover simple yet powerful dietary shifts that can restore balance in your body — starting from the inside out.
Guests are invited to bring a whole food, plant-based dish for a potluck beginning at 6:00 PM. The program will begin at 6:45 PM.
Please choose a plant-based recipe made with whole plant foods — whole grains, beans, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Please no animal-based foods, vegan processed foods, white flours, or added oils, and we ask you to minimize added sweeteners and salt. (If this sounds intimidating, don't worry! Reach out to grace.simoneau@ppmny.org for guidance on simple dish ideas, or check out our community recipe app here.)
Please bring a serving utensil for your dish.
