Gia Merlo, MD, MBA, MEd, DipABLM, FACLM, is a clinical professor of psychiatry at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, associate editor of the American Journal of Lifestyle Medicine, founding chair of the Lifestyle Psychiatry Caucus of the American Psychiatric Association, a fellow of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and a Medical Advisor of Plant Powered Metro New York. She sees patients at the Psychiatry Faculty Group Practice at NYU Langone Health and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles, multiple book chapters, and four academic books for healthcare professionals.
