Join Plant Powered Metro New York for a community screening of Eating You Alive at Ginjan Cafe in East Harlem. Featuring leading medical experts and researchers, Eating You Alive takes a scientific look at the reasons we’re so sick and how we can use whole-food, plant-based nutrition to take control of our health.

Come early to enjoy a meal from Ginjan Cafe before the kitchen closes at 6:45 PM, and stick around after the film for a talk-back with special guests Claudine Smith, MD, MPH, and Kelly Weichsel-Arya, RN.

Claudine Smith, MD, MPH, is a family medicine physician dedicated to using lifestyle medicine to prevent and manage chronic disease, leveraging her expertise in diet, exercise, and behavior modification. As a member of PPMNY’s board of directors, she expands her commitment to improving health through community-level interventions.

Kelly Weischel-Arya, RN, a plant-based nurse educator, leverages her extensive education from the University of California at Berkeley and her experiences as a foreign scholar to transform clients’ health through superior lifestyle and nutrition education. She entered the medical field to address the gaps in nutritional education she observed, aiming to prevent chronic illnesses by empowering patients and physicians with comprehensive wellness knowledge.
