Description
Join Plant Powered Metro New York for a community screening of Forks Over Knives at Ginjan Cafe in East Harlem. The documentary explores the possibility that people changing their diets from animal-based to plant-based can help eliminate or control diseases like cancer and diabetes. The film includes an overview of the 20-year China–Cornell–Oxford Project that led to Professor Campbell's findings, outlined in his book The China Study (2005), in which he suggests that coronary artery disease, diabetes, obesity, and cancer can be linked to the Western diet of processed and animal-based foods (including dairy products).
After the film, stick around for a talk-back with artist and activist Lashawn "Suga Ray" Marston and plant-powered personal trainer Kirk Charles.
$5 entrance fee, with whole food, plant-food snacks, and dishes available for additional purchase.
